Texas controls texas commerce CONSTUTUTION STUFF SUPERMEACY CLAUSE. National doenst always trump state. Main vs. tailor State laws prohibiting people form outside the state from bringing fishing bait into the state. When a state interphers with state commerce, they need to show a REALLY good reason for why they did it. they need to justify. They said maine if you tell ppl from out of state they cant bring bate from out of state your interphering interstate commerce. They justified: maine has a very important industry in Maine. They keep maine afloat. Maine lobster, is world famous. They need to control ecosystem to keep lobster healthy and delicious. They need to make sure its good bait that comes from their own place so they know whats going in the water. Cheap, fresh, better solution. They said fine, keep doing it. you proved a good point. Houghes vs. Oklahoma Heard headed texas who smuggled minnows across the river. Said oklhomas was interpheing with interstate commerce. No fishing in oklhoma! Oklahoma couldn’t prove their point so Oklahoma lost. TAXING AND SPENDING There are ways that the US tell states what to do without telling them what to do. US said Raise your legal drinking age to 21 and we’ll give you spending money for highways They all did it! Lower your blood alcohol level to .8 They did it! Now enforce the laws. AMENDMENTS
