Mehar Ghei 10/21/10 Freshman Seminar If I had the Authority, I Would Make the Following Changes at NJIT I believe NJIT is a great school for academics and is filled with numerous opportunities to jumpstart a successful career. Aside from the school as a whole, I do have some personal issues that I would fix if I had that authority. Firstly, and most importantly, is my family’s financial and resident issue. My family moved to the United States ten years ago and my parents and I have been paying all the rightful taxes since then. My father applied for a green card a few years after we moved to this country and it was been about eight years since the application and we have still not received permanent residency. Though all the paper work has been filled in and all the money has been paid, the process has been backed up since the event of September 11, 2001 and our application is very slowly moving its course. I worked very hard throughout high school to receive a good scholarship from
