Find the components of force and its magnitude. 2 An electron of mass 9.11 x 10 -31 kg has an initial speed of 3.00 x 10 5 m/s. It travels in a straight line and its speed increases to 7.00 x 10 5 m/s in a distance of 5.00 cm. Assuming its acceleration is constant, a. Determine the force exerted on the electron and b. Compare this force with the weight of the electron, which we neglected. 3 Besides its weight, a 2.80 kg object is subjected to one other constant force. The object starts from rest and in 1.20 s experiences a displacement of (4.20 i -3.30 j ) m where the direction j is upward in the vertical direction. Determine the other force. 4 If a man weighs 900N on the Earth, what would he weigh at Jupiter where the acceleration due to gravity is 25.9m/s2? 5
