Running Head: EA Enables Processes Paper Introduction With the current growth in businesses, organizations have discovered ways to improve their business processes and this has made organizations implement or improve their Enterprise Architecture (EA). Because of this, EA has become one of the most popular ways that organizations use their IT infrastructure to support their business flows and processes. For an EA to be effective, it must align with the business mission and process for its goals to be accomplished. To effectively develop and implement an EA, the “System Development Life Cycle” (SDLC) phases must be followed. “The systems development life cycle (SDLC) is a conceptual model used in project management that describes the stages involved in an information system development project, from an initial feasibility study through maintenance of the completed application. SDLC can apply to technical and non-technical systems.” (Rouse, 2019). This step by step approach of the SDLC is an effective tool that is used when developing and implementing an EA. This paper describes an EA and how it is developed and implemented throughout the SDLC phases. Explanation of Enterprise Architecture In general, an EA “is the process by which organizations standardize and organize IT infrastructure to aligns with business goals.” (White, 2018). An implementation of an EA is the overall desire of an organization to help execute its business strategies to achieve its future goals. When an EA is implemented correctly, it allows the organization to become more effective, efficient, and improves the quality of its business information. The existence of an EA is to help an organization deliver array including agility within the enterprise program and process. (Sourour, 2016). 2
