Karlo Natonton Communications 120 August 31, 2010 Public Speaking Personal History One of the most stressful things I have ever done was speak in front of a group of people I do not know. I have always been nervous to do a presentation ever since my days as a young boy in pre-school presenting my favorite teddy bear for “Show-and-Tell.” I have been through classes all of my life where presentations were required. However, this is my first course that is focused on public speaking. I hope to learn public speaking techniques that help me become less nervous for speeches. One of my biggest weaknesses in public speaking is saying “Um,” or “Like,” in all of my speeches. Through this public speaking class, I would like to reduce that tendency of mine. Another goal that I have for this class is to be able to give informative and interesting speeches. I have plenty of interests such as music and sports. However, it is difficult for me to make it entertaining or interesting for my listeners. I want to stay away from spitting
