Wertman, Brittany bmw5195@psu.edu Art 001 Section 1 10/12/10 Gallery # 1 ~ Christopher Troutman 1. Christopher Troutman - Received his M.F.A. from California State University, Long Beach in 2008 - Concentrations: Drawing and Painting - Had numerous shows in Japan - He worked as an instructor of art at Vincennes University in Indiana 2. Artist’s Statement - From seeing her artwork first and then reading her Artist’s Statement, the artwork makes more sense to me. He focuses on the unique gestures of human figures and amplifies urban settings. His aim is to investigate the capacity of pictorial form to intensify aspects of our daily visual experiences. 3. 5. I chose these 2 pieces because they were the most interesting to me. Stacked Japan I found interesting because you don’t normally see drawing of the Japanese (or at least I haven’t). In the Artist’s Bio it is clear that he did numerous solo shows in Japan so this piece makes more sense now. Intersection I also found very interesting. The middle drawing is most obvious of the title “Intersection”.
