Unformatted text preview: SEXUAL DYSFUNCTIONS: MODERN UNDERSTANDINGS AND TREATMENT STRATEGIES Thomas Wood, LSW, M.Ed CONTACT ME: (267) 479-2279 thomaswoodlsw@yahoo.com www.thomaswoodlsw.com Hypoactive Sexual Desire D/O Also referred to as inhibited sexual desire or low sexual desire The persistent or recurrent deficiency or lack of sexual fantasies and desire for sexual activity Causes marked distress or interpersonal difficulty Sexual Aversion Persistent or recurrent extreme aversion to, and avoidance of, all (or almost all) genital sexual contact with a sexual partner Causes marked distress or interpersonal difficulty Female Sexual Arousal Disorder The persistent or recurrent inability to attain or maintain until completion of sexual activity, an adequate lubrication- swelling response of sexual excitement Causes a marked distress or interpersonal difficulty Inhibited Male Arousal Also referred to as erectile dysfunction (ED) Being unable to have or maintain an adequate erection, lasting until the completion of the sexual activity, on persistent basis Causes a marked distress or interpersonal conflict Rapid Ejaculation Also referred to as premature ejaculation Persistent or recurrent ejaculation with minimal sexual stimulation before, on, or shortly after penetration and before the person wishes it Causes marked distress or interpersonal difficulty Anorgasmia Also referred to as female orgasm disorder (FOD) The delay in or absence of attaining orgasm following sufficient sexual stimulation and arousal Causes significant personal, relational, or physical distress Inhibited Male Orgasm Also referred to as delayed ejaculation Persistent or recurrent delay in, or absence of, orgasm following a normal sexual excitement phase during sexual stimulation.
