Grace Kim TA Stephanie Chan Doc1 B018 Oct. 17, 2008 Weekly Reading Journal Entries (Week #3) – “‘Savage Inequalities’ Revisited” The main argument in “‘Savage Inequalities’ Revisited” is the biased federal funding in the education system. The book Savage Inequalities from 1991, demonstrates that generally the schools in richer and whiter areas receive more educational funds while those in poorer and more minority-based neighborhoods receive less. Feldman recaps on this issue ten years later and compares the data to see if any progress was made within the years. However, the results came out to be that there was not a big change within the years, but a majority of the states either made progress or remained the same.
