STAT1303A Data Management Assignment 3 Due Date: 19th November, 2009 1. The data set LARGEDATA consists of the observations for a study. (a) Create a new data set SUBSET1 containing variables X1 to X5 and the observation whose (X2 20 and X2 < 60). (b) Create a new data set SUBSET2 containing variables X3 to X8 and the observation whose (X2 60 and X1 < 20) or (X3 > 21 and X3 < 67). (c) Create a new data set SUBSET3 containing variables X1 to X5 and the new variables Y1 and Y2. The value of Y1 is 1 when X6 > X7 and is 0 otherwise. The value of Y2 is the sum of X8 to X18. Only the observations whose Y1 = 1 or Y2 > 700. (d) Considering the 55th to the 305th observations in LARGEDATA, select the observations whose (Y1 = 0 and X1 > 60) and save to a new data set SUBSET4. Include the new variable Y1 and all existing X variables, except X40, X45 and X50. (e) Create the data sets SUBSET5, SUBSET6 and SUBSET7 where SUBSET5 contains the observations whose X1 > 70 and Y2 < 300, SUBSET6 contains the observations whose X1 > 65 and SUBSET7 contains observations whose Y1 = 0. < 25, is 2 when X1 25 and X1 < 75 and is 3 when X1 75. Save the means and standard deviations of X2 for di/erent combinations of Y1 and Y3 using the CLASS statement to a data set GMEAN.
