Patricia Abrudan On “The Age of Discretinon” and The Ethics of Ambiguity In the “Age of Discretion” there are many philosophical themes that are presented from The Ethics of Ambiguity. Even though both writing styles are completely different they both are texts intended t o make the reader understand different aspects of Simone de Beauvoir view of what philosophy is. Some of the specific themes discussed include freedom and liberation and the aesthetic attitude. The story of the “Age of Discretion” is one that many readers can understand. At least, many readers can follow the storyline. Even so, it is easier for some readers to derive more meaning from stories rather than from books like the Ethics of Ambiguity . Both are well written works of art but for most the storyline of the “Age of Discretion” is much easier to follow. Even so, it may be difficult to some to find all the different themes of philosophy in the book without having a background knowledge in philosophical ideas. Therefore reading the
