Our Emotional Age In some ways society hasn't changed the way in which it views itself and the world around it. Human beings are creatures of emotion, it is our emotions that cause us to do things or to not do anything at all. Being born in this era I can talk only of how I see the world now and not of before my time but I can assume from comparing my experiences with the stories of past writers like Kierkegaard that some things never do change. Some call our generation a lazy generation. At first, I begged to differ. I believed that we are a lazy generation but that we probably always were and always will be. It is fitting to say that we could always be doing more. Even so, as the day old cliche goes 'we are only human'. It is our 'humanness' that makes us incapable to be creating, discovering, and learning 24/7. It is because we are, as stated above, creatures of emotion. We do what we want, when we want, because we want to. All of us live our lives day by day doing what we believe we want to be doing. We all differ in what we want. Alcoholics and drug addicts may not want to be drug addicts or
