Unit 4 – Assignment 2 2 Unit 3 – Assignment 1 / BUS207 Companies have had to implement policies for affirmative action due to past discriminations in the work environment. These policies have been created by government intervention in order to eliminate the hiring and promotion of workers due to race or sex. This intervention was needed in order to prevent minorities and women from being denied the same opportunities as the white males in the work force. The policies of affirmative action that were needed during the sixties, seventies, and the early eighties have now become an issue of reverse discrimination. There have been numerous discrimination cases brought against companies for their practices of promoting minorities and women rather than promoting white males that may be more qualified. There is an example of this in the Supreme Court right now where a group of white male
