Unit 5 – Assignment 1 2 Unit 5 – Assignment 1 / Jed’s Concerns Jed’s concerns are valid if this was a company in the United States. Even though it looks as if the acts of the Lima, Peru office are in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act they are not. This practice is legal unless the salespeople are being paid commission in order to hide giving kickbacks to the customers. There are several concerns for Jed to pay attention to in order to make sure that all transactions do not violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The first concern will be to pay attention to the relationship between the salespeople and the government. If at any time the relationship falls into the “gray” area in business practices it would be best for Geletx to release the salesperson from employment.
