SCIE206-1101A-02: Biology 2 Introduction Through observation, it has been noticed that grass is not growing for three inches around a driveway that salt was spread on daily during the winter. It has also been noticed that the grass is growing more slowly for about a foot from the same driveway. This puts into question whether salt is inhibiting the growth of the grass. Hypothesis Since salt is used to melt ice and prevent it from forming on the driveway, I believe that it prevents the grass roots from being able to absorb the water needed for growth. Prediction I predict that if I water a healthy plant with saltwater it will then die. Controlled Experimental Method For this experiment, I will set up twenty 6” x 6” planters with six-week-old Rye grass in each planter. The Rye grasses will all be planted at the same time with the same soils, drainage,

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
