Atherosclerosis is caused by the build-up of fatty materials in the blood stream, such as cholesterol, that attaches itself to the artery walls. This build-up thickens the artery walls restricts the flow of blood to and from the arteries. This is a common problem with the arteries near the heart, and because of the restricted blood flow the heart works harder to produce the blood needed for the body and eventually stops due to being overworked. This is a disease that is preventable but unfortunately goes undetected until it is too late in many people. My wife happens to be one of these, she went to the emergency room a few years back thinking that she was suffering from bronchitis. When the doctor started tests to determine
