Unit 5 – Assignment 3 2 Unit 5 – Assignment 3 / Future Bookstore Technology The changes that we have seen in technology over the past couple of decades have allowed us to have greater accessibility to all types of information and literature. As technology continues to evolve with new innovations I can foresee the bookstore market changing in what types of media is stocked and sold both in the store and online. This will change the services offered by the bookstore and will need to be staffed appropriately. The biggest change that we have seen has been the use of e-books. We are now able to download and read e-books on our computers, palm pilot handhelds, newer smart phones, and other e-reading devices. These advances have made it possible for people to have a more portable method to read books and have brought costs down for both the consumer and seller. As the technology for these devices
