“When 'this and that' is possible, why choose 'this or that'? Why compartmentalise life when holistic living is possible?” was his oft- repeated proclamation. Stating that there is intellectual loneliness, he used to clarify, “The more and more you begin to live life from a higher consciousness, the more and more you seek the company of such people with whom you can share your understandings of life. But the likes of those are too scarce. In a normal world, which is fighting their day to day needs, sharing your understanding of life may make you look abnormal. So the need for a fraternity of like-minded, preferably right-minded people… a satsang for sangam saranam gachami .” So, in order to create a fraternity of right-minded people - who can look at life from a higher consciousness, striving for holistic living, by embracing 'this and that', Avyakta initiated a satsang . In his inaugural address Avyakta said, “Let us ask this question, why do institutions or a country need a pledge? Why national anthem? Why morning assemblies in schools and also in industries? Why should an oath be taken? The purpose of any mass oath is to unify the minds of people involved. People need reminding for remembering, and a pledge exactly achieves that. If our objective is to develop a like- minded and a right-minded fraternity, then we too need a pledge. Let us not reinvent the wheel. We don't have to write a new script. Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, in his 'Gitanjali', has already left a vision for us to achieve. Let us make his words our pledge and collectively strive to turn his vision into reality.
