Johnny Stromp Comm. 1313.34 EC Assignment Ins. Mark Hans The Interpreter The Interpreter is a movie that is based around communication. Throughout the movie I noticed multiple different aspects of communication. There was some romantic communication, language barriers, some non-verbal interactions and finally communication between partners. The first time I noticed some romantic communication between Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman was the night after the bus explosion. They were together in Nicole’s apartment talking about what had happened that day, and I could start to see Nicole trying to find comfort from Sean through her eyes. Then towards the end of the conversation she leans on Sean and he holds her while she sleeps. This romantic communication is continued throughout the movie between these two from that point forward. In the scene when Nicole is holding a gun to Zuwani’s head Sean says to her “If you shoot him then he’ll be dead, then you’ll be dead…and I don’t know what I’ll be.” From that line I can infer that Sean has feelings for Nicole and truly cares for her safety
