Timelines of Publication cycle and the timeline of the Research cycle. Talks about the difference between popular media and scholarly journals. Also talks about the difference between a primary and secondary source 3. Getting Started a. Finding the right database in order to find good research articles. How to use the pubmed.gov. Shows and quizzes on the locations for the Purdue libraries. You can also use ask a librarian on the Purdue library website in order to get help with whatever you need. 4. Basic Search Strategies a. Google vs. the library databases. Library databases are more efficient search engines that cost the university a lot of money per year. Library database searches have just relevant results. To get better searches: use keywords, Boolean operators; AND OR NOT, and truncation. 5.
