UNIT 4 ASSIGN A valid contract can be entered into by almost anyone. However, there are a few exemptions to that saying. People that can not enter into a contract include minors, those that are of an unsound mental state, and those that are intoxicated (Fundamentals of Business Law Part I Chapter 9). In the particular case study, I do not think that Carrie is obligated to sell the encyclopedia’s to Antonio. The first requirement of a valid contract is the offer and acceptance.

Unformatted text preview: Antonio did not accept the offer immideatly; therefore there was no contract. While Antonio is entitled to wait to make a decision, there was nothing in writing, nor an exchange of any kind; therefore there is no valid contract. Since Antonio did decide he wanted the items, the contract had already been in place and completed with Norvel, as he paid for and has possession of the encyclopedias; therefore she can not revoke her offer to Norvel.
