Axia College Material Appendix D TV Character Evaluation Part I Write a summary of 350-700 words identifying the contributions of Freud, Jung, and Rogers. Carl Jung was the founder of Analytic Psychology. His contributions focus on the conscious and unconscious dynamics of the psyche. Primarily the way that the human unconscious appears in ones dreams. Carl Jung’s psychology embraces all things in the universe, such things as art, myth, history, philosophy, and spiritualism. These are a necessary and essential part of Jung’s psychological thought process. Jung whose idea was that religion was an essential part of his psychological process. On the flip side Sigmund Freud was an atheist. Freud’s idea comes from a different place all together. He believed that nearly all psychological problems could be traced bay to sexual issues. Not all of his psychosexual theories are accepted in today’s mainstream psychology. Freud contributed the idea of the therapy couch, which is used in mainstream therapy today. The idea is that talk therapy can help with repression, denial, sublimation, and projection. Freud’s ideas have always been controversial. However, no one can deny the contribution his thought and ideas, controversial or not, have brought to the profession. Carl Rogers was best known for co-founding the Humanist Approach.
