Types of Government 1. Monarchy : form of government head by a single member of a royal family such as a king, queen, Czar, or Shah. 2. Oligarchy : form of government in which a few individuals rule such as in an aristocracy, military rule, or feudal lords. 3. Dictatorship : government in which one person has nearly total power to make and enforce laws such as Cuba or North Korea 4. Democracy : government by the people Representative democracy: government of representatives elected by citizens to represent their interests. Economics Economics : refers to the study of how society chooses to employ resources to produce goods and services and distribute them for consumption among various competing groups and individuals. Economic Systems Capitalism : all or most of the factors of production and distribution are privately owned and operated for profit
