Problem 1 (6 marks, 2 for part a and 4 for part b) Consider a CDMA system with two senders where sender 1’s code is C1=[+1 +1 +1 -1 +1 -1 -1 -1] and sender 2’s code is C2=[+1 -1 +1 +1 +1 -1 +1 +1]. a. Assuming nose-free transmission, will a receiver in this system always be able to correctly decode sender 1’s and sender 2’s transmissions? Explain why or why not. b. Suppose that sender 1 transmits two data bits, D1=[-1 +1], and sender 2 transmits data bits D2=[+1 +1]. What is the signal that arrives at the receiver? Show (by calculation) that the receiver is able to recover sender 2’s data from the received signal by using sender 2’s code. Problem 2 (5 marks)
