Explain overall impact of the new deal on American gov and society. Be sure to discuss the primary goal and basic overall characteristics of several specific new deal programs: The New Deal made one of the biggest impacts on the American gov and society since the founding of the United States. It greatly expanded the role of the federal government in the American Society and formed strong relation between industry and labor. Since the great depression made citizens scared to invest or put money in the banks, FDR wanted to restore faith in financial institutions , end the economic downturn and provide direct relief to individuals in need by developing several new deal programs. With the help of the programs, the new deal was able to form a new role for organized labor through the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) , which impacted the growth of the union and made the federal gov support the creation of unions. It was now illegal to fire anyone for being part of a union. The Congress of Industrial
