Similarities of Plant and Animal Cells: 1. Both have a nucleus that contains the cell's DNA. 2. Both have mitochondria to produce energy. 3. Both have ribosomes to synthesize proteins. 4. Both have lysosomes that contain enzymes to break down large molecules. 5. Both have endoplasmic reticulum to transport protein and other things inside and outside the cell. Differences between Plant and Animal Cells: 1. Plants have a rigid cell wall and animal cells do not. 2. Plants have chloroplasts and animal cells do not. 3. Mitochondrion - is where aerobic respiration and ATP production takes place and creates the cell's energy. Stroma - is part of the chloroplasts (in plant cells) where carbon dioxide is transformed into glucose. Endoplasmic reticulum- move proteins around and in and out of the cell. Lysosomes - contain as many as 40 different enzymes that help break down large molecules for the cell to process....
