We will cover most of the material in Chapters 1-6, and some of Chapter 7. Topics include systems of linear equations, linear independence, linear transformations, matrix algebra, determinants, vector spaces, bases, eigenvectors and eigenvalues, diagonalization and orthogonality. If the permits, we will include symmetric matrices. Homework: (15%) Homework will be posted on Blackboard under “Assignments”. There will be weekly homework assignments due on Wednesdays (mostly) and will be collected at the beginning of the class. Late homework will not be accepted for any reason.
