People believe that the death penalty can decrease the crime rate, but the truth is it cannot do that. The death penalty cannot help us to have a better society. When people have been asked whether they felt safer after someone had been executed, a lot of people said “no” or they did not know. People can see the fact clearly; the crime rate is not decreased, but it increases or stays the same (Capital).
