MGT 181: Enterprise Finance Case Study #1 It is 5:15 PM and John is sitting on the bluff overlooking the surf at Blacks. It is a beautiful winter day. The sun is setting with a rainbow of colors lighting up the sky. A swell is filling in from the northwest. John is upset. He is holding his head in one hand and a letter in the other. The letter reads as follows: Dear John: We are excited that after 6 years you will graduate from UCSD this spring. It takes some longer than others but better late than never. Needless to say we are very proud of you. As you know we recently filed for bankruptcy protection. Our lawyer tells us that we will be able to keep our home and we are hoping to get a new VISA card soon. Until we do your credit card will not work. Given our current situation we can no longer support you after you graduate. (Yes, John, you must graduate.) This means that in order for you to survive you must get a job.
