Ad-hoc networks are characterized by open medium dynamic topology distributed cooperation and constrained capability. These characteristics set more challenges for security. If the routing protocol is attacked the whole network would have been paralyzed. As a result routing security is the most important factor in the security of the entire network. However, few of current routing protocols have the consideration about the security problems. The potential insecure factors in the AODV protocol are analyzed. Furthermore, a security routing protocol based on the credence model is proposed, which can react quickly when detecting some malicious behaviors in the network and effectively protect the network from kinds of attacks. 1 Introduction MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Networks) [1], comprised of a collection of mobile nodes connected with wireless link, is a multi-hop and self-organized system. Ad-hoc networks are autonomic, provisional, infrastructure less and easily-constructed, which is widely used in military information system of battle field, civil emergency search-and-rescue operations and other occasion. The Ad-hoc networks are gradually adopted for commercial and civilian purpose since the technology of the Internet and mobile telecommunication is maturing and being broadly applied. However, the security of ad hoc networks is also broadly concerned [2] [3]. According to continuous random motion of the nodes, the topology of the network keeps changing and varying. In addition, the features of Ad-hoc networks are the same as that of normal wireless system, all of which make security problems of Ad-hoc networks more complex, especially the security of routing protocols. Some research about security issues of AODV protocol, which is one of the most popular routing protocols in Ad-hoc networks, is done. Moreover a new routing security enhanced protocol with two methods, attack detection and credence mechanism, is proposed in this paper. 2 Rationale of AODV Routing Protocol AODV (Ad-hoc On Demand Distance Vector) [4] has been considered as one of the most popular and promising on-demand (route will be built just when one node wants
