ECON 346 Econometrics Lab 7: Introduction to SAS We will use SAS to study the petroleum example in Studenmund’s textbook. You can get the SAS code from following class website. http://tigger.uic.edu/~jmlee/econ346/data/GAS1.sas.txt (Please be careful the capital letter since the site is case sensitive) Copy the text to SAS editor, and learn about the language. You are learning a new language, so be patient and listen very carefully. Here are some commands we will exercise from this class: DATA GAS ; -> This means you are creating a dataset in SAS. The dataset name called GAS. Make sure you always end with ; (semicolon). INPUT ------- ; -> You need to provide the variable names here. CARDS ; -> This is a command that you are going to input the data. PROC PRINT ; -> You are listing all variables and the entries. Following commands will do OLS. PROC REG ; MODEL PCON = REG TAX / R P ; RUN ; You are required to submit worksheet before you leave. Using three regression models, explain each
