3.4b The Slope of a Line Parallel Lines Two lines are  parallel  if they have the  same  slope and different y-intercepts. Perpendicular Lines Two lines are  perpendicular  if the  product of their slopes is -1 . (This means that the slope of one is the  negative reciprocal  of the slope of the  other.)
