Unformatted text preview: Object Speech DUE: Monday, 8/30 This is an introductory speech; meaning you are introducing something—YOU. You will choose 3 objects that represent your life – past, present, and future. This will give you an opportunity to speak as well as use a visual aide with an easy, no-brainer topic. The catch? Your 3 objects must be related: Ex. #1: A student brings in 3 Beanie Babies: a swan, an owl, and a lemur. The swan represents her past as an “ugly duckling” who blossomed. The owl represents her current focus of getting an education and becoming wise. The lemur, which lives in Madagascar, represents her hopes to travel the world when she is older. Ex. #2: A student brings in 3 types of candy: A plain Hershey’s bar to represent growing up in a small town which was good, but had little excitement. A bag of M&M’s to represent the new color in his life when he moved into the city and encountered a more diverse cultural life.
