Catcher in the Rye Unit Description/Journal Questions Journals General tips for journals: Clearly label all sections Keep up on journal entries Read over assignment before you read the section of the book to sticky tab quotes that  you might use Try to get quotations from a variety of locations in the reading (not just all from  the first chapter) All quotations should be correctly cited with page number: Ex. “She had a tiny little wheeny-whiny voice” (94). For each week’s reading assignment, you will complete one journal entry with the following sections: Plot Summary Summarize in your own words each chapter (1-2 sentences per chapter) Clearly label each chapter’s summary (The more detailed the summary, the better—use  your discretion) Characterization Holden Caulfield Holden tells us a lot about himself and his personal beliefs  Record  three  significant (3-5 sentences) quotations that show Holden’s
