Unformatted text preview: Listening Task: A concept map of social issues within The American Experience 1) Get out a piece of notebook paper and put your name upon it. 2) As you listen to your classmates’ speeches, build a concept map (Z will show you an example). Put topics/ideas from the speeches in circles, arrange them on the page in some way that shows how they are related to each other, draw lines between them, and label the lines with a few words showing how your various circles are connected. 3) At the conclusion of the speeches, write a few sentences on the back of your map using the following stem: “Various social issues within our society and people’s ideas about them show that the American Experience is ____________________” 4) Turn this in to Dr. Z.
