The Crucible —Mini Research Project 1. Look at The Salem Witch Trials and another example of mass hysteria in the United States. In the library, attempt to find the answers to all of the following questions about both events: How did the mass hysteria begin? Who were the “accused” of this event? Who were their “accusers”? When did the event occur? What were some of the results of the event? Explain as much of the historical background of the event as possible: Why did the event occur at this point? Why was it possible? 2. Write a paragraph describing your findings. Try to be specific as possible, incorporating all the information from the above bullets. 3. Cite your sources—where did you get your information? Be sure to write down all websites, articles, etc. Look for author information whenever possible. Use MLA format to cite your information. Your heading should also be in MLA format. All of this is due on Friday—January 7
