BOULDER TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER Job Experience Program QUESTIONS FREQUENTLY ASKED BY EMPLOYERS ABOUT COOPERATIVE EDUCATION  (OJT) ---- AND SOME ANSWERS, TOO!  PLEASE READ AND THEN GIVE TO EMPLOYER  WITH TRAINING AGREEMENT. Q.   CAN YOU GIVE A SIMPLE EXPLANATION OF OJT? A. OJT is a work-study program for high school students patterned after apprenticeship programs  (which are available only to those who have a high school diploma or equivalency diplomas).  It  consists of two parts, work experience on the job and related class instruction. Q. HOW OLD ARE OJT STUDENTS? A. At least sixteen. It is best experienced when the students are juniors, while other students may  decide to work only in their final year of high school. Q. DO THE STUDENTS EARN HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT? A. Certainly. Students can earn up to fifteen units of elective credit for each semester of full and  satisfactory participation in OJT.  The program is administered through the Boulder Technical  Education Center, which is part of the Boulder Valley School District. Q. WHAT OCUPATIONS DOES OJT COVER? A. This program covers general employment.  Most jobs are acceptable and will be okayed by  instructor in advance; however, OJT is not intended to compete with other vocational programs. Q.
