A person lacking in work ethic does not take pride in what they do and often does not do a very good job. On the opposite end, a person with a strong work ethic knows that his or her skills and efforts have value and takes pride in work. It is more than just a paycheck; a person with a strong work ethic does a good job. That is the type of person you want to have as co- worker or employee. Valuable employees work hard all the time and are trusted by their employers and are usually rewarded. Remember to take initiative – do work without being told. Be a self-starter. If you see a task that needs to be done, do it if you know how. Do not wait to be told or asked. Different people consider work ethics in various ways; honesty, responsibility, sense of urgency, punctuality, leaving personal matters
