Block day, February 24 th , 25 th Today’s Objectives Students will read with voice and fluency. Students will practice understanding through viewing and listening, and use a visual model of the text to aid understanding. Students will discuss literature in a community of learners and reflect on the essential questions that have guided the unit. Students will use their homework (event lists) to understand cause and effect and prepare for the final timed writing on Block Day, April 17 th , 18 th .

This flitty behavior causes her family to not have faith in her ability or focus on being a doctor. Effect: The historical context of the time (as discussed in the background slides and in Walters comment about nurses) limits the rights of women in certain fields. The effect of this is that Beneathas family does not support her decision to be a doctor.
