PreIB10: World Literature and Composition Adkisson Unit 3: MACBETH Unit Goals, Objectives, Expectations, and Tentative Calendar Unit Goals and Objectives: 1. Students will be able to annotate and track various themes throughout the play in an effort to be able to explain those themes in detail. 2. Students will analyze how themes are conveyed through various literary devices. 3. Students will develop a creative response to demonstrate understanding of the dramatic text and the complexity of characters/plot. 4. Students will demonstrate understanding of drama and dramatic performance through production and theatrical performance. 5. Students will discuss literature in a community of learners in an attempt to better understand the text and the themes presented, as well as to challenge their thinking. Unit Guiding Questions/Themes: 1. Is Macbeth a tragic hero? Why or why not? 2. Who is to blame for the tragic events in Macbeth? 3.
