Premiere Pro 1.0 and Encore DVD 1.5 Beginners Guide Part 1. Importing Video with Premiere Pro 1.0 Make sure the Sony Mini DV deck is connected via firewire using the grey colored firewire/usb2 hub located on the right side of the Dell P4 computer before launching Premiere Pro. (Note: Do not plug in any external devices into the back of the computer unless authorized) Launch Premiere Pro (click on Start>All Programs>Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5) 1. Click on “ New Project” from the Premiere Project Wizard 2. From the Load Preset tab under DV-NTSC choose “Standard 48khz” 3. Under Location – create a new folder in D:\STUDENT PROJECTS\(Your Project Name) 4. Name the file and save it. 5. Go File>Capture to launch the capture window. 6. Mark In(i) and Out(o ) to mark the length of the clip to be imported. To start the capture process, click the blue In/Out button at the lower right corner of the window. (The red record light will activate once the recording/capture begins) . 7. Name your file and click OK. The clip will appear in the Project window. 8. Close the Capture Window 9. Eject your tape and power down the Sony Mini-DV Deck. Export to MPEG-2 format using Adobe Media Encoder 1. Select your clip from the Project Window and drag it down onto the Timeline. 2. Slide the clip to the beginning of the Timeline. 3.
