DMA 326 TV Sound Design (Spring Semester) TV Sound Design (Mon/Wed 2:30-3:45pm) After Class or by Appointment Instructor: Jody Mahler [email protected] LCH A211 (310) 243-3665 COURSE OBJECTIVE : To provide students with actual experience in audio post production and sound design on television production. Student will receive instruction in Pro Tools (audio software) and technical instruction in recording ADR, Foley, Sound Effects and Music Scoring for television productions. TEXT: No textbook required MATERIALS: (1) External Hard Drive or Flash Drive (2 GB) for storage and backing up of projects. (5) CR-R’s for burning digital audio files. $2 approx (5) DVD-R’s for burning digital audio and video files $10 approx PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT : Students will produce an audio score using Pro Tools on Macintosh G4 computers. Gain experience in digital editing of sound effects, dialogue, foley, walla-walla, and music score. Learn how to burn Audio and Data CD’s and DVD’s.
