Associated Press, Surprising Success for Childhood Diarrhea Vaccine, October 26, 2008, http://,2933,444099,00.html Medical researchers have found a vaccine that could help fight the rotavirus in children. About 200,000 U.S. children were taken to the emergency room from January to May of this year. The virus kills about 1,600 children each day worldwide. The pharmaceutical company Mercek & CO developed the drug, Rotateq, in 2006.
