Oil is injected into the bottom of a vertical core at a constant pressure of 20 psia.
It is
produced at the top of the core at a constant pressure of 15 psia.
The core is 2 feet long
and 2 inches in diameter.
The oil has a viscosity of 0.7 cp and a density of 0.8 g/cm

.
The permeability of the core is 100 md.
(a) Calculate the oil production rate.
Use both Darcy units and SI units.
First convert
each quantity to the appropriate units and then apply Darcy's law.
Show all of your units
and conversion factors.
(b) Calculate the oil production rate using the same data except for permeability.
Assume
the bottom half of the core has a permeability of 50 md and the top half a permeability of
150 md. Use Darcy units.
(c) Calculate the oil production rate for the same problem except assume the permeability
increases linearly from 50 md at the inlet to 150 md at the outlet.
