PGE 323L  HW#1 due February 5, 2009 Pope 1. Assume a rectangular reservoir is developed with staggered line drive well patterns (Figure  1.7-7) with an aspect ratio of 2. The well spacing is 20 acres. The line source and sink solutions  developed in Chapter 1 apply to this problem.  (a) Make a sketch of the staggered line drive well pattern with the dimensions in feet. Calculate  the distance between an injection and production well. (b) Write the particular equations for the potential and velocity functions for  one of the confined  well patterns (include the numerical values of the coordinates of the line sources and sinks).   (c) Assume the reservoir is isotropic.  Make sketches of the streamlines and isopotential curves  for the well pattern and one representative front and the corresponding areal sweep at that time.
