Unformatted text preview: SEXUAL TECHNIQUES 1 Sexual Techniques Nicole Ureste PSY/265 January 28, 2011 Carol Watson SEXUAL TECHNIQUES 2 The sexual techniques that are discussed in the text are masturbation, sexual fantasy, foreplay, kissing, touching, breast stimulation, and oral-genital stimulation. Foreplay is a physical interaction such as cuddling, kissing, oral-genital contact, or petting which takes place before sexual intercourse (Nevid & Rathus, 2005, p. 272). Foreplay is usually used to set the mood for sexual intercourse. Kissing can be an affectionate gesture towards a loved one or it can also be a form of foreplay. There are many different types of kissing and they do not always include the lips (Nevid & Rathus, 2005, p. 273). Touching can be a very sensual feeling and can be done on numerous parts of the body. Even holding each other’s hands can be sexually arousing for some couples because we have many nerve endings in our hands.
