My writing style or tone would probably change due to how someone responds to me. It would all depend on how a student, an instructor, or even a family member would be writing to me online. If someone is using all capital letters I would take that to offense because I would think that they are yelling at me. If I were to be talking to another student online I would use just regular times new roman text font size would be no bigger than a 12, that way there they would think that I was being mean, yelling, or being hateful to them. I would also choose my words wisely because I know they cannot see my facial expressions to see if I was either playing, or if I were to be serious. Know if I was talking to an instructor I would use the same font and the same size of text as I would a student. Know if I were to be talking to a family member it would depend on the family member, because some family members you can have the text really big

So when writing to someone online that you dont know personally I recommend that you use the standard text of times new roman and the text size as a twelve (12) dont bold your letters, dont add color to them, and dont spice up your letter to them because you dont know what their reaction would be. They might take it the wrong way....
