Erickson 1 Sarah Erickson Beth Stevens English 103 5:00PM August 12, 2010 King Corn King Corn is a documentary about corn, how it is made, where it goes, and ultimately why it ends up in our hair. It was composed by Ian Cheney and Curtis Ellis, two college graduates from Boston, Massachusetts. As long term friends, the boys were shocked to learn that they both had grandfathers who lived, worked, and died in the town of Greene, Iowa. Their main claim was to prove or disprove that their generation is at risk for not living as long as their parents generation. Because of the lack of nutrient food in their diet opposed to the nutrient food that their parents lived from, they began research. Corn in specific was found in their hair in a lab and they wanted to find out why so much of it showed up in the lab tests. Ian and Curtis moved to Greene, Iowa to grow an acre of corn and see for themselves. They found several reasons that corn is such a highly consumed product.
