Jennifer Romero Lab 1 bio 15  5/4/11  Case Study When I first read my case I immediately though the disease was meningitis.  Then I read through my pathogens packet and decided it was probably  Hemophilus   inflluenzae .  The problem I encountered was the spelling; most every site I found online  called the bacterium  Haemophilus influenza.   After matching up the cell morphology and  gram stain, disease, symptoms and the Hib vaccine it seemed logical that it was the  same microbe. (1) Medical Terms Low-grade fever- raised body temperature (1) Grand mal seizure- seizure characterized by two phases; tonic when body  becomes rigid; clonic when there is uncontrollable jerking (1) Postictal- following a seizure, confused (1) Cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) - The serum like fluid that circulates through the  ventricles of the brain, the cavity of the spinal cord, and the subarachnoid
