Education has progressed through the years but not enough.  Yes we have the right to a public  education but we don’t have the right to an equal education.  The education we get is determined  by social order.  Tracking means rich kids get the college path whereas poor get the work path  and this is done in schools. How we are socialized in school is how we learn to raise our hand  before speaking of course, but it is also where we learn where we fit in society. Your options are  limited in a poor neighborhood because that means poorer school system.  If you go through that  system chances are college isn’t what would be expected, not that college (even a high status one)  isn’t possible but just not as likely.  If you are an outstanding student sure you can get
