Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley was born 30 August 1797 in London England. When she was a child, she would write small stories of fantasy and amusement, but considering her advocate mother, Mary Wollstonecraft, and her journalist father, William Godwin, she did not see writing as her long term work. Although Percy Shelley encouraged her to write, she did not write seriously until she took a trip with four others. At this time, the volcano, Mount Tambora, erupted and its ashes overshadowed, darkening several places. “The Year Without a Summer” of 1815, Mary, her husband Percy Shelley, Lord Byron, Claire Clairmont, and John William Polidori went to a Lord Byron’s cabin next to Lake Leman (Geneva) in Switzerland. An idea was proposed that they try to write the scariest ghost story. There, each writer was working on their separate novels. So, at 18 years old, she starts her novel called Frankenstein . Most of them abandoned their works after returning to England, but not Mary Shelley. Her story involves dynamics and themes, such as maker and creation,
